Master’s Thesis in Multi-Core Processing for Dependable Systems

EADS Innovation Works (corporate research of EADS) searches for a master’s student (m/f) in the area of computing for embedded systems for an immediate start. Tasks are to setup and evaluate compute architectures, embedded OSs, and applications of modern new multi-core computers destined for the use in safety-critical and security-sensitive aeras in airplanes.

Knowledge:
• Basics of multi-core architectures
• Embedded computing und virtualization aspects
• Good OS knowledge (e.g. embedded Linux oder similar OS)
• Knowledge in performance and timing evaluation

Working in a team, intrinsic motivation, good knowledge in English and interest for dependable applications are prerequisites.

tasks:
1) Identification and setup and use of multicore computers
2) Reserach on safety and security aspects (e.g. virtualisation, vulnerabilities, …)
3) Evaluation of performance considering safety and security
4) Work as part of international research projects
