Miriam Gas Simulation and Forecasting Centre in Halden in cooperation with the Department of Computer and Information Science (IDI) at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) have got a PhD research fellowship focused at parallelisation of Linear Programming (LP) on Novel Multicore Hardware. Miriam Gas Simulation and Forecasting Centre is developing a gas network simulation system, and to be able to give better support to the European gas market increased computational performance is
required. The proposed research aims at meeting this requirement by parallelisation of linear programming methods on new multicore hardware such as the Cell Broadband Engine used in Playstation 3 (PS3). Further information is attached.
