The Parallel Computer Architecture Research Group (GACOP - www.ditec.um.es/gacop) at the University of Murcia (Spain) offers several predoctoral positions. The successful candidates will concentrate their research efforts on the design of high-performance and high-availability CMP (Chip Multiprocessors) architectures. In particular, topics of interest to GACOP include:
* Internal architecture of the CMP
* Organization of the memory hierarchy and cache coherency
* Efficient energy management in cores, memory and interconnection network
* Fault tolerance

Applicants must hold a recent M.S. degree in Computer Science. The economic conditions are 13500-15000 euros/year gross +
health insurance.

Apart from the specific positions’ requirements, applicants should have fluent English skills (written and spoken). Strong interest in the area and in research work and the desire to make a contribution, capability of critical thinking and independent, yet cooperative work, sound programming and good communication skills are also expected from applicants.
