and Computer Architecture

The CARV laboratory of the Institute of Computer Science at the
Foundation for Research and Technology -- Hellas, is seeking
applicants for three (3) postdoctoral research positions in
next-generation scalable compute and storage systems. This area is
currently under significant change due to changes in underlying
technologies that open exciting possibilities. The ideal candidates
would be experts in computer systems and parallel computer
architecture, with good publications, and a proven record in
developing systems software (e.g. kernel modules, network protocols,
firmware). Successful candidates will have unique opportunities to
significantly contribute to technical (design, implementation, and
evaluation), management (liaise with investigators in other
institutions, participate in new proposals, reporting), and
educational aspects (teaching) of research. Outstanding candidates
will be considered for tenure track research positions at FORTH-ICS.

Required Skills: Documented research experience in computer systems
and parallel computer architecture. Ability to design, build, and
evaluate systems software (kernel modules, firmware).

Desired Skills: Experience in low-latency, high-bandwidth
communication protocols & network interface architectures,
high-level communication abstractions and programming models, and
scalable storage systems.

Education: A Ph.D in computer science, computer engineering, or
related field is required.
