Submission instructions for papers submitted to the Special Issue of HiPEAC

The submission should contain original material that has not been previously published in a conference or journal, nor is currently under review by another conference or journal.

A first response based on the first round of review will be sent out 60 days after submission.

TACO can only accept papers in electronic form. To submit, use the Web site acm.manuscriptcentral.com :

Once logged in, click the link “Author Center” and then the flashing link for submitting a new manuscript.

Important: For “Manuscript type:” select “HiPEAC”

When submitting or resubmitting a paper, an author must complete each of the steps below, otherwise the paper will be sent back:

  • Page Length - The paper should not be longer than 20 pages using the 7x10 ACM Submission Format . The 20 pages includes text, figures and references. This is a strict limit for the submission.

ACM Submission Format:

If you are going to prepare your manuscript in LaTeX, please go to the following directory for further instructions:

If you prefer to prepare your manuscript in MS Word, please go to the following directory for a working template.

If the paper is accepted, for the final version of the paper, you are limited to 20 pages. Authors who do not follow the above formatting during the submission and final paper preparation can end up having to cut pages from their paper. ACM Publications will reformat the paper if you do not, and when they do and it is over the limit they will send the paper back to have you cut it down to fit within the final 20 page limit.

  • List of Conflicts - At one point during the submission process you will be prompted to add a "Cover Letter". In this box, list (one per line) (a) all of the TACO Associate Editors an author on the submission may have a conflict with, (b) all collaborators and their affiliations (for all authors on the paper) in the past 5 years, and (c) the name of the universities and industry sites the author's graduated from/are affiliated with and the name of the author's adviser.
  • For Revised Papers - Upload Comments to Reviewers in the Box Provided - A revised submission should include responses to the reviewers comments. This has to be uploaded as text in the box provided otherwise the reviewers will not see your comments. A good format for the response is to list for each reviewer a summary of each comment followed by your response.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS DO NOT APPLY TO SUBMISSIONS FOR THE SPECIAL ISSUE OF HIPEAC, BUT ONLY TO REGULAR SUBMISSIONS TO TACO:

  • Conference Extension or Not - If the paper submission is an extension of a conference paper, it is NOT qualified for submission to the Special issue of HiPEAC.
  • Upload of Prior Conference Papers - During the paper submission process you will have the option to upload additional files. This is not applicable to papers submitted to the Special Issue of HiPEAC.
  • 25% New Material - If material in the submission was previously published in a conference, the submission needs to contain at least 25% new material, and the submission should clearly cite the prior conference publication and state what is the new material. This is not applicable to papers submitted to the Special Issue of HiPEAC.

If your paper is accepted, ACM Publications will contact you to submit to them a publication packet. The page limit for final papers is 20 pages using the 7x10 submission format. You must format your paper using these style sheets.
The packet ACM Publications will want includes:
